This has been widely rumoured as a strip pub to be - including in the local paper. However, the website says it is going to be a sort of up-market bar with family Sunday Roasts and so on.

Possibly was a venue thought of for strip but idea abandoned - nothing to stop it reverting to Plan A though as it apparently has permission for strip.

Anyone know?

Most recently the Butcher and Grill restaurant, reported to have closed. There's no mention of striptease in any of the old reviews of the Fountain on Beer in the Evening, although one refers to it as a "scary flesh peddlars market"!
