This venue no longer appears on the Entertease web site so it would seem to have either ceased stripping or maybe another agency is supplying the dancers.

The Q Club was frequented by masses of squaddies from the local army base. And the shows were essentially stag shows with toys, etc - which was sailing close to the legal wind. I took a few dancers down there over the years. I remember following one dancer around with repalcement beer mugs while she collected for the girlie spot at the end. She got three full ones. I counted it up for her, and she'd made £300 for the spot; I think the other girl got much the same.

The reason the place closed was pissed up squaddies were getting involved in fights outside the venue - the bouncers were good and I never saw any trouble inside. So eventually the army put the place out of bounds in an attempt to stop the trouble, and that was the end of the Q Club - without the squadies, it didn't have a clientelle.

I went there a few times but it involved a long drive. Back then I was prepared to drink in moderation and drive the 50 miles back - then came a point when good sense got the better of me.
The events were often on a Wednesday night coinciding with Champions League football on the box which added to the atmosphere - but delayed the start of the show so I was getting home well past midnight. My main reason for going was to see Lava, a Swedish dancer who used to perform there. Ann-Marie, another favourite was booked there to make her first appearance - but the place shut earlier in the same week to my great disappointment. She would have been a natural !
The girl/girl finale often involved a young squaddie being dragged from the audience to participate.
It was a snooker club first and foremost with a good dozen tables -including one very strange octagonal one .
Some of the squaddies girl friends ( or maybe female soldiery ? ) were occasionally in the audience - and were the ones to cause trouble by refusing to put into the jug.
In defence of our gallant troops - I heard the trouble in town was away from the club and may not have involved the soldier boys . But the Army took no chances and declared the joint off-limits . I think it struggled on as a snooker club for a while then folded sometime later.
