Re: ** M1 5WZ Obsession, Manchester

I believe Victoria's and Obsessions were owned by the same people and have since closed.
Perhaps more to do with a lack of custom rather than loss of licence.

Klub 49 Chesterfield - briefly open

Very strange case this. Licence granted 11/06/25. Opened 04/07/25. https://chesterfield.moderngov.co.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=225&MId=7086 However this was non-public information so no minutes held. Facebook/Instagram dated 27/09/25 showed ongoing electrical issues and hoped they would reopen the ...

Interesting goings on. Demons closed earlier this year and was replaced with a swingers' club called "PDI Lifestyle". However, the club was forced to close after a dispute with the landlord over "privacy issues". https://pdi-lifestyle.co.uk/ The club has now reverted to being a gentlemen's club ...

https://democracy.manchester.gov.uk/mgAi.aspx?ID=16458 Nice to see the feminists are continuing with their informed objections. The objection that the area is becoming more residential seems to have been dismissed by the Licensing Panel. Objector thinks club is open longer hours than it is ...

Re: FY1 1AR Sinless, Blackpool

What is significant is that Blackpool had very strict conditions for striptease for years before the 2009 Act. This makes it painfully obvious that the licensing scheme has nothing to do with regulation.

Re: Threat to Leeds clubs

Interesting that there have been few objections since the cull. It's almost as if, once people know their city isn't going be overrun with clubs and that they won't be allowed in sensitive locations, most people are fairly OK with clubs. The law has worked better in Leeds than I feared 10 years ago ...

Browsing the City Vaults Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/cityvaultsnewcastle they have topless dancers on match days which indicates that the SEV licence is valid.
Can't find anything about Whiskey Down though - surprising in view of the struggle they had to get the licence.

Looking again at the Glasgow clubs licensed on 14/09/22. It seems their licences last for 3 years. Pity we can't have this in England and Wales as it would give clubs and dancers far more stability than the current annual licence hearings.
