XX CLOSED LE3 5NH Angels, Leicester

Post by Tyke »

It looks like the council's attempt to refuse a license to Angels may fail, the first part has, the 2nd part on location {it's unsuitable because it's opposite a University sports centre aparently !} still to come,

I understand that after a judicial review Angels has been granted an SEV , interesting as I can see a few more judicial revues coming and I wonder now whether councils will decide not to contest them.

Lap dancer takes colleague's car

Sorry, Charlene, I'm afraid that would be a "no thanks".

"Certain activities" caught on CCTV may mean

Angels

not having its licence renewed.

Licence refused

The club management does appear to have been lax - not very clever in the current environment. But was police involvement really needed?

Two comments appended to the article:

"It's a nice piece of land that this building is situated on. Has nobody scratched below the surface yet as to the reason why these premises has lost its license?"

"The council's licensing committee probably view themselves as successfully campaigning to clean up and protect the citizens of the city successfully campaigning to clean up and protect the citizens of the city ... Sadly all that will happen is drive this unseemly industry underground - exactly the opposite of the 'clean up and protect' intention."

£15K court costs

"Council staff had to watch 1800 hours of CCTV coverage."

I would have thought that dancers and staff would have known that 13 cameras were there for a purpose?

Now a belly-dancing club.

Note the ridiculous "Comment": "Quite right for the council to keep investigating this venue. Under-age children have allegedly been employed at this place."
