According to the local paper (that has waged war against the place), Club Mystique closed suddenly last Tuesday.

CLOSED - No evidence of this establishment, which I assume must have been in the New Pilot Inn, in existence.

Not the New Pilot, but in the old New County Hotel - now set to reopen as a conventional hotel after its very brief life as Mystique!

PS - Gloucester has still not moved to the west Midlands!

Colonel,

You're so correct! You only have to go to Kingsholm and hear the 'chants of "Glaw'ster" to know you ain't anywhere in the Midlands!

The board was originally set up using the BBC local radio station coverage. As the coverage for Gloucestershire came from Pebble Mill at that time, as far as UTK goes it is and forever more will be West Midlands!

Well said, tryed again. As a Shedhead born and bred and a regular at Glawster, it definitely ain't in the West Midlands.

Not quite right, Zante, a significant proportion of Gloucestershire is served by the Mendip transmitter, broadcasting HTV and BBC West.

Come on Glaws!

But the City of Gloucester itself and the north of the county is served for digital purposes by the Ridge Hill transmitter and gets BBC Midlands Today & Central (Midlands) News. Neither have Gloucestershire stories on a regular basis- once a fortnight if necessary to ensure they honour their broadcasting commitment

These days one searches in vain for decent media coverage of the mighty Glos; the Western Daily Press and Points West are in love with Bath - and their Midlands TV counterparts know nothing of rugby union!

Back to topic: sign of the times, I suppose, that both clubs that opened in Gloucester have now closed.
