A new lap dancing club opens in Inverness on July 17th, despite some of the usual rubbish criticisms:

newspaper report

with Tyke (aka Bill Martland) making one of his last observations, and one very much to the point. But there's going to be lap dancing with no physical contact :? and the girls have got to keep their underwear on :( ?

Some frustration among councillors that they couldn't refuse Hush's application:

I don't know how Scottish and English law differs on sex entertainment venues?

Council refuses to ban strip clubs in the Highlands

This is rather old news - from April 2022. Common sense seems to have prevailed despite the usual objections, about clubs causing harm, increasing crime etc, being bandied about.

From the Inverness Courier article linked to above by pleasure_seeker:

'Bodies such as NHS Highland and the Highland Violence Against Women Partnership (HVAWP) alleged a great deal of harm is done to women as strippers generally.

'The HVAWP chairman DCI Donald MacDonald said: “Verbal, physical and sexual harassment and assault of lap dancers is standard and constant. This is carried out by punters and staff alike. Assault includes GBH, stalking, rape and gang rape.”

'That was rubbished both by a spokesman for the club who described the claims as “shameful” and “fantasy” and later one of the dancers Kelsey Johnson also added her voice to that saying she feels 100 per cent safe working there.'

The usual suspects making the usual claims without producing any supporting evidence, as usual!
