Churches seem to be unhappy with dancers removing g strings

Presumably the vicar is a boob man.

Licence renewed. Still allowing g string removal.

i noticed that on the council website, some of the objections were that the area was a "saturation zone". Given that the club was Surfer's Nightclub immediately before, that seems rather lame.

if I didn't know better, I would think that these objections were moral in nature.

From the above article:

'After a three-hour long meeting, councillors took around 10 minutes to reach their decision.

Concluding, the committee’s chair Coun Paul Prescott said: “The committee has considered the objections raised, which include the potential impact of the licensing activity on crime, disorder and public nuisance, the proximity to other premises including charitable facilities although these operate outside the licensed hours of the venue.

“It is significant to the committee that Greater Manchester Police, a responsible authority, have raised no objections regarding the granting of the renewal of this application and have expressed no concerns of the granting of this application regarding the impact this venue may have on crime and disorder, public nuisance or an increase in danger to public safety.

“I also note that a site visit was conducted to the premises this morning to allow the committee to have a better understanding of the premises which then enabled the committee to make a more informed decision.”'

Lisa Nandy MP whining about "inappropriate location".

if an area full of pubs and clubs is inappropriate, exactly where is appropriate?

It's the only 'argument' that the antis have available to them, given that moral objections are discounted under the Police and Crime Act 2009, and the basis of the Lilith Report has been debunked.

New SEV licence rejected for the nearby Studio 46 club.

I have to say that, in the current climate, applying for a new licence literally yards from an existing club is not helpful to the industry.

And calling the proposed venue "Sin-til-Late" wasn't very clever anyway. Such a name would have provoked the antis, especially were it to have been displayed on the exterior, and watching a girl gyrate with her g-string on all the time isn't my idea of sinning.

Perhaps the enforcement officer had it right when he stated: "that Mr Plant was lacking the basic experience and knowledge that would be necessary for running such an establishment”.
