Re: HU1 3DL Purple Door, Dock Street, Hull
One of the two Hull venues seeking to renew licences.
Article
Among the comments:
"I don't recall hearing any similar objections about the Ann Summers shop in Whitefriargate which is way more 'explicit' with its window displays and is open during the daylight hours."
and
"In an enlightened, liberated society there should be no seedy lap dancing clubs."
Oh, the irony of the last comment!

The Purple Door and the Honeytrap have had their licences renewed:
Lap-dancing clubs in Hull granted licences despite objections (Hull Daily Mail, 15/09/15)
Diana Johnson won't be pleased!

It's seeking new dancers.
Hull Daily Mail
I guess the Hull Daily Mail must be hard up for news - or it benefits from the club advertising in its printed copy?
Nearly every website I've seen for a club says that it's looking for new dancers.
And though the article is dated April 16 no comments have been appended - usually there are a few made about articles relating to stripping.

Seems the license has been renewed. However the long list of conditions shows the council really are being a pain.

Re: HU1 3DL Purple Door, Dock Street, Hull
Not for the first time, I wonder why there are so many restrictions on a "lap-dancing" (sic) club whilst "swinging" and all it entails is allowed at a named address that's in the public domain? What's to stop someone opening a private strip-club with some very relaxed rules and it being allowed to function by the authorities?
At least Hull residents seemed broad-minded: only 12% of the 3000+ replies to the poll were negative, with 26% intending to "pop along" with their partners - which suggests some very crowded sessions!
The only difference I can think of is that no money is exchanged between, or given to, the swingers.

Also found it interesting there was not one objection to Purple Door. Hull must have some interesting people in the area.
